Mouser Now Offering Molex MX150 Cylinder Thru Seal Connectors for Next Generation Automotive and Industrial Applications

This connector is part of Molex's rugged and reliable MX150 automotive connector series, which meets the industry's growing demand for high-reliability motors for next-generation automotive and industrial applications. This cost-effective solution is a panel-mounted, sealed connector that provides a high-performance, field-proven, oil-resistant connection for sealed wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations in oil-cooled motors and associated resolvers/transformers and negative temperature coefficient (NTC) temperature sensors.

The Molex MX150 through-cylinder sealed connectors utilize the rugged and field-tested MX150 form factor to help simplify the assembly process and improve safety, while offering a smaller package size than traditional USCAR connectors. These devices have a maximum voltage of 14VDC and a maximum current of 12 A. They are available in a 12-way, dual-row stackable 2x3 connector configuration, including separate connectors for the temperature sensor assembly and the resolver assembly. The stackable design provides procurement flexibility and reduces supply chain risk compared to other solutions.

These high-performance, high-efficiency, panel-mount sealed connectors ensure fast, accurate mating for 1.50mm terminal systems, and their rugged, reliable characteristics enable them to provide dependable performance in extreme temperatures, under all levels of vibration conditions, and in humid and chemical-aggressive environments. These connectors have IP6K9K and GMW3191-S3 sealing ratings, as well as GMW3191-V5 vibration ratings in accordance with GWM3191. The unique double-ring sealing technology with terminal potting achieves superior sealing with greater reliability than single-ring sealed connectors and the same stable connection capability. The double ring seal design provides a tighter seal and the oil-proof seal makes the connector ideal for oil-cooled motor applications.

The Molex MX150 through-cylinder seal connector features a one-piece housing that simplifies assembly and allows for easy installation. A pre-assembled terminal secondary arrestor (TPA) prevents accidental terminal disengagement, and a polarity-selective housing prevents mis-insertion.
